The Owner’s Cask Single Cask Whisky

The Yamazaki The Owner’s Cask 1986 is an exclusive single cask whisky, selected from the finest oak casks. It is bottled at cask strength (63% ABV) and non chill filtered to retain its richness and character.

The Owner’s Cask Single Cask Whisky is a rare and precious whisky and is the only single cask from Yamazaki distillery, which has won several accolades for its quality. In 1986, Kirin Brewery Company, who owned the distillery at that time and now part of Suntory Liquor, invited a few privileged people to select their own barrel of whisky – creating an unrivalled experience for whisky aficionados. The Yamazaki The Owner’s Cask Single Cask Whisky was aged in Oloroso sherry casks for over thirty years. It is bottled at 48% ABV with only 108 bottles available worldwide. This limited edition whisky is presented in a unique wooden box, to protect its journey across the world with you.

This barrel proof release is the first of its kind, coming from The Owner’s Cask series. This whisky is made using Yamazaki’s 30 year old American oak casks and bottled at a cask strength of 64.6%. Glowing with rich mahogany colour, it offers notes of raisins and dates and balanced spice. This 40 year old Japanese whisky doesn’t need any added flavours for it to be fun or exuberant; it is enough on its own to keep you interested and wanting more.

Ageing whisky in wood makes all the difference, and nowhere is this more evident than The Owner’s Cask. This collection of single cask whiskies offers a unique insight into the art of maturation. Each dram has been carefully selected by its owner who had a hand in designing and crafting the barrel before it was filled with their finest single malt. Each whisky in The Owner’s Cask is bottled at its natural strength, undiluted and unchillfiltered to ensure the truest taste.

The Yamazaki The Owner’s Cask Single Cask Whisky is a rare opportunity to experience an extraordinary whisky from the legendary and highly acclaimed distillery. The whisky formed part of a single cask collection which was created by Yasushi Akai, the founder and owner of Yamazaki Distillery in 1987. This release displays all the qualities that have made it so widely sought after over the years

Aged for 24 years in an ex-bourbon cask and bottled at 52.1% ABV, this is a single cask expression from The Yamazaki distillery.

This 5th release from The Whisky Exchange’s Owner’s Cask range of single-cask Japanese whiskies is a 1986 vintage Yamazaki. First filled into American oak cask no. 30476 and bottled in 2011, this is a whisky of great depth and complexity, but with the trademark Yamazaki citrusy tang. Beautifully balance between a sherry influence and single malt character – the bottle has already won an award!

A whisky with such depth and maturity that the Owner’s Cask can be enjoyed whether whiskies are young or old, peaty or fruit forward. It’s all in the wood, and this contains an pure oak cask matured to perfection.
